That’s the vision of One Million for Change, a social enterprise that acknowledges the one million Aloha who used live on Big Island Hawaii for over 1500 years and empower the local Hawaiian community to create local small businesses that are sustainable, innovative, and beneficial for all.
Our business model is based on three main components: grants, AI-generated business plans, and presentations coaching.
We offer 10K grants, AI-generated business plans, and presentations coaching to aspiring entrepreneurs who want to start or grow their own businesses on Big Island. The grants are funded by donations from individuals and organizations who share our vision and values. We have a transparent and fair selection process that evaluates the applicants based on their potential impact, feasibility, and alignment with our mission. We also have a monitoring and evaluation system that tracks the progress and achievements of the grant recipients.
AI-generated business plans: We provide AI-generated business plans that are tailored to the needs and goals of each entrepreneur. These plans include market research, financial projections, marketing strategies, and more. We use cutting-edge technology and data analysis to generate these plans, which are designed to help the entrepreneurs launch or expand their businesses successfully. We also provide feedback and guidance on how to improve and implement these plans.
We offer one-on-one presentations coaching, where we help the entrepreneurs articulate their mission and vision effectively and persuasively. We teach them how to pitch their ideas to potential customers, partners, and investors using dynamic words and vivid examples. We also help them overcome their fears and boost their confidence by practicing with them and giving them constructive feedback.
We also connect them with donors, partners, and investors who share our vision and values.
We aim to revitalize the economy, culture, and environment of Big Island Hawaii by supporting small businesses in various sectors and industries, such as agriculture, tourism, education, health, arts, and technology.

Highlights:

We will support over 100 entrepreneurs to launch or expand their businesses on Big Island Hawaii by 2025.

We will raise over $1 million in donations from individuals and organizations who support our cause by 2025.

We will generate over $5 million in revenue and profit for our entrepreneurs and their businesses by 2025.

We will create over 300 jobs and opportunities for local people on Big Island Hawaii by 2025.

We will reduce over 5,000 tons of carbon emissions and save over 250,000 gallons of water by promoting green practices among our entrepreneurs and their businesses by 2025.

We will enhance the well-being and happiness of over 100,000 customers who will enjoy the products and services of our entrepreneurs and their businesses by 2025.
Milestones:
In mid 2024, we will scale up our program to 25 entrepreneurs who will receive our grants, business plans, and coaching. They will create businesses in sectors such as permaculture, eco-tourism, online learning, wellness, music, and web design. We expect them to achieve an average return of 10 times their original investment.
End of 2024, we will scale up our program to 50 entrepreneurs who will receive our grants, business plans, and coaching. They will create businesses in sectors such as hydroponics, cultural tourism, tutoring, fitness, painting, and app development. We expect them to achieve an average return of 8 times their original investment.
In mid 2025, we will scale up our program to 100 entrepreneurs who will receive our grants, business plans, and coaching. They will create businesses in sectors such as vertical farming, adventure tourism, mentoring, nutrition, photography, and software development. We expect them to achieve an average return of 6 times their original investment.
How Can I Join?
If you are one of the one million people who used to live on Big Island Hawaii and you want to start or grow your own business there, you can apply for a grant by filling out a simple online form. You will need to provide some basic information about yourself and your business idea.
If you are selected, you will have an opportunity receive a 10k grant and an AI-generated business plan within a few weeks. You will also be assigned a presentation coach who will help you prepare your pitch.
If you receive a grant you will then have six months to launch or expand your business on Big Island. You will also be required to submit regular reports on your progress and achievements.
At the end of the six months, you will have the opportunity to showcase your business to a panel of judges who will evaluate your performance and impact. The best businesses will receive additional funding and support from One Million for Change.
